“Blessings,” a poem

“Make your ear hear what your mouth utters”
But how does one hear even a loud noise
When the heart is shut against the world?

How much of the Holy must be imagined
Before It can be ignored to remain
Held in Its place by words?

Words will spill freely and not have their
Meaning overflow from the heart
Yet nothing else is needed.
